SOME OF THE MESSAGES
WE'VE RECEIVED
Below you will find some of the messages we've received about the J-Stamps web site. We welcome your comments. (Responses are from Mike Frost, the site's webmaster.)

Please keep up the excellent work and site. Your work is
important to educate young and old alike in the history of Israel, Jews,
and the world, especially in these troubled times.
Albert Dvorak, Miami, FL, 2/7/02
Thank you for this website. It is very informative and I appreciate the perspective you offer on Jewish-related stamps. How often is new material added to the web site? Do you accept outside submissions?
Response: My father was notorious for pushing deadlines to the breaking point -- a trait that has been handed down to me! My aim is always to have the feature column online by the 7th of each month, and a new Deep Background column by the 15th. Sometimes, however, that deadline will slip due to work pressure. Still, I think if you check back on about the 10th and 20th of each month, you will find new material.
As for outside submissions, YES! We will be glad to publish Judaica-philatelic writing, either on a regular or one-time basis. If you have material you would like to submit, please write me at froststamps@yahoo.com.

Since "Tzedakah" is one of the tennants of our religion, I
would like to see more articles pertaining to Jewish Charity Seals. Do
you think that you can oblige?
Response: Unfortunately, I can only post the articles I have in my library here, and I don't see any on this topic. If you have anything you would like to submit, we would be happy to include it on the site! Write froststamps@yahoo.com

Thank you very much for the web site and Dr. Frost articles.
Few years ago Dr. Frost sent me some xeroxcopies of articles that were
published before when I didn't know about his publications.
Under his influence I also begin to write on Judaica topic in
philately. As a
person who spent most of the life in the former Soviet Union I familiar
with
local philatelic Judaica and write most often on their materials.
However
only Russian stamps include about 1000 Judaica related positions I am
aware
about. In stamped stationary there are even more. I provide the data
for
other philatelists who can write better English than I do. I also make
presentation for local kids, etc.
However main reason that I am writing to you it is question about
possibility
to have Philatelic Judaica discussion group. I think it would be good
location. There is no one available right now.
Response: We hope to launch a discussion group on J-Stamps sometime in Spring 2002. (The issue is time, not technology!)

gustramos de la filatelia y en especial de la tematica de Judaica.
Translation: Excellent, an important source of information for those interested in philately and in particular and especially the theme of Judaica.

My first visit. Thank you. Keep up the good work.

I want to wholeheartedly commend whoever is responsible for
carrying on Murray Frost's work. As a fellow collector and exhibitor of philatelic Judaica, I thoroughly
enjoyed his columns and greatly admired the extent of his research into
an area we both held dear. We exchanged a few letters over the years
and I discovered hime to be very generous in his responses. While he is missed, it is wonderful that his work lives on. I often
regretted that I hadn't saved his columns in Global Stamp News.

I recently found your web site...Can I get a sample copy of the Global Stamp News.
Is there a way to purchase a complete set of all articles on Judaica Philately.
Can you recommend any dealers or other literature.
Response: You can request a free sample copy of Global Stamp News by writing to Global Stamp News, P.O. Box 97, Sidney, OH 45365. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with any book or articles for sale on this topic. Keep coming back to this site for our free articles. (Anybody out there have any suggestions?)

I was sorry to learn the passing away of Murray Frost, whose articles I
read since the early 80's, when I began myself to write with my old
friend
Dr Jean Kohn. 20 years after, Judaica stamps are still my hobby. I'm in
charge of a monthly Judaica philatelic article in the chic French
magazine
"L'Arche" and I'm also completing an Art-book dedicated to this topic,
a
tough job.
Do you intend to re-publish on the Web all the articles Dr Murray Frost
wrote, and is it possible to get a listing of what he published ?
Thank you and shalom.
Response: Please let us know when your book is completed and we will let people know. As for a complete list of what Dr. Frost wrote, unfortunately, there isn't one. We are slowly compiling everything we can find, but I'm not certain we'll be able to republish it all here -- some of it is dated.

I was delighted to read in the July Global Stamp News about this new
site, a tribute to your father. I always looked forward to his column
and was sorry to read of his passing. I wrote him a letter in 1994 about
my interest in starting a topical collection of synagogues. He
responded with a very nice and informative letter which I still treasure. I
did put together that collection which I have exhibited at a regional
stamp show and in a synagogue in Illinois (to very positive reviews), and
in it I credit your dad for his assistance. Over the years he has
exerted a significant influence on many Judaica collectors.
