SHRM Screen Shot SHRM Online
www.shrm.org
I created and maintained the SHRM web site from 1994 to 2001. Since my departure, the site has undergone a multi-phase redesign. Among the key features I implemented:

  • Daily content is provided in the HR News section. The key to a web site like this is to keep user's coming back; a daily news feed accomplished this.
  • Another source of daily traffic is HR Jobs. Indeed, this section accounts for 60 percent of pages served and generates more than $5 million in traffic.
  • The Member Directory allowed SHRM to allow members to locate colleagues while preserving its lucrative list-rental service.

  • Old SHRM Screen Shot SHRM Online, Earlier Version

This is the interface that, until I left SHRM to launch Goleta Publishing, served as the SHRM design. It was replaced to facilitate implementation of portal software. This page is no longer active (hence some out-of-date language and broken links).

    HRCI Human Resource Certification Institute
I created the new look for this site as well as the conversion of documents to the design template. The site launched on June 20 and is accessible at http://www.hrci.org

Burton Marinkovich Burton Marinkovich Fine Art
I created the web presence for one of Washington's leading art galleries, Burton Marinkovich Fine Art. Phase I of the site rolled out in August; an expanded site is scheduled for completion in December. (BMFA is gathering text material for the site.) I also created a section for a special exhibit the gallery is hosting. In addition to coding and designing the full site, I did most of the original photography. A preview of the expanded site is available at http://www.burtonmarinkovich.com/full. (Note: Much of the copy on this preview site is dummy text.)

NINCH National Initiative for a Networked Cultural Heritage
I have created a new design for NINCH, a leading coalition of museums and educational institution web sites, as well as ongoing analysis of web site traffic patterns. Work includes a new design, site conversion and code sweep of existing NINCH documents. Work will be completed in December 2001. Currently, the NINCH web site has the organization's old web interface in place. A preview is available via the Goleta Publishing web site.

I did the original coding and design for former SHRM CEO Michael R. Losey, to promote his writing, speaking and consulting activities.

SHRM Global Screen Shot SHRM Global Forum
    http://www.shrmglobal.org
I created this site for SHRM's international division; it is aimed at HR practitioners specializing in global management. I currently provide bulk of coding for this site as a contractor.

    CNI Coalition for Networked Information
    http://www.cni.org/tfms/2001b.fall/
Within the context of CNI's rigid template, I created the design and graphics for this preview of the organization's annual task force meeting.

    SHRMStore Screen Shot SHRMStore
    http://shrmstore.shrm.org
This online store was created to sell HR-related books and products, as well as SHRM logo items. It uses Microsoft Site Server as its backbone. I helped create this site, although it is maintained by another department at SHRM.

    Goleta Publishing Goleta Publishing
    http://www.goletapublishing.com
The web site for my consulting business was created in February 2001. It reflects my principles for web design.

    J-Stamps J Stamps
    http://www.goletapublishing.com/jstamps
The target audiences for this site are stamp collectors and those with an interest in Jewish history. I created the design, as well as all coding and editing.
